If you are looking to find information on how to take your content creation more seriously, you've come to the right place! Find real media kit examples and ways to jumpstart conversations with brands you have an interest in collaborating with.
While these this may not be all of the tools you need, it is definitely a good place to start. ~
Obviously, you’ll need to get used to being on social media regularly or pay someone to do it for you (be cautious of scammers!). You also need to know what you're providing, set goals, and stay disciplined. Here’s how you can get the ball rolling:
Commit to just one platform to start.
Don't bother with too many things at once. Focus on one and study it. Yes, the algorithm, the hashtags, anything! The more information you know about this platform, the better,
Plan your content.
Use your time wisely once or twice a week to plan out what you are going to post, when, and where. Committing to content planning takes a conscious effort and discipline. Once you get a handful of pre-planned content, you can copy & paste as much as you need to and find yourself spending less and less time by recycling your own content. This is especially helpful on platforms like Pinterest, Twitter, Bluesky, Instagram and Facebook Pages. Canva is useful for planning content and creating designs catered to your brand, but there are many others like Buffer to try out as well.
Keep your spirits up!
Don’t compare yourself to others, because your journey is different. Rome was not built in a day! It will take time to gain traction, no matter who you are or what you are providing. Interact with similar people in your niche and stay connected with others that may be on a similar path. In due time, you'll watch your audience flow right to you. It can feel like you are talking to a brick wall sometimes, but I promise you will start to see individuals that support you even if they aren’t speaking directly to you - even me!

Now for the main event… MEDIA KITS!
A media kit, also known as a press kit, is a collection of information and promotional materials about your business, product or event. A media kit may include an About section, contact information, products and services, statistics, demographics, goals, and multimedia content.
Get creative! Use colors or elements that you really enjoy. You can add a picture of yourself, or let the facts speak for you. These kits can be updated on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. When writing collaboration requests, emails, and even certain applications, you should include your kit as a catch all of information for businesses to be able to share as well. Some applications even request them!
It is never too early or too late to get started - there are plenty of templates available online, but Canva is free for several of its tools if you prefer to manage it yourself. If this is your first time ever learning what a media kit is? You are on the right track! Your desire to want more from your platform/brand should fuel you to take steps towards your goals every day. It takes hard work and dedication to create a sustainable platform with quality content to engage an audience.
