This is my fourth Freida McFadden book this year, and this is how I would rank them:

1. The Housemaid (5 stars)
2. The Locked Door  (5 stars)
3. The Boyfriend (4 stars)
4. The Inmate (3 stars)

This one had a really great plot twist, as expected from Freida McFadden, and had me hooked the entire way through! The Boyfriend is a little slower paced compared the others but has a strong plot.

Sydney is the biggest headache to me, but I didn't think she was as bad as the FMC in The Inmate! Her lack of common sense became increasingly frustrating, and I could find less reasons to excuse her ditsy behavior...

Freida knows how to make an unlikeable character, that's for sure.

That's why I always love her books. You can't help but find ways to relate to little things the characters say/do, even if they are the "villain" of the story...it kind of gives them a sense of humanity.

If you're anti-unsufferable characters, leave this one alone. Sydney will get under your skin QUICKLY!

Read Along Highlights:

Chapters 1-5 | Are you creeped out a little bit?
"If I closed my eyes and imagined the perfect girl, it would be you....Well, except for your arms. They're kind of flabby."
We all collectively wanted to smack Sydney with this bad date. You stayed, paid, and didn't smack him in the face?
Chapters 9-12 | Annie, are you okay?

BONNIE GIVES BAD B-ch energy okay ~ I absolutely love that she stood up for her homegirl, because there are not enough people that would do the same!!!! It takes a certain level of boldness to stand up against harassment and violence against women whether they are your friend or not...

but was there a consequence to doing that? Should the ladies have just called the police and called it day?
